Viking's Cities of Lights River Cruise itinerary included Wurzburg and we opted for the 

WÜRZBURG RESIDENZ & WALK included excursion. Highlights of the day included the Prince-Bishop's Residenz. Würzburg’s Bishops’ Residenz is one of Germany’s largest and most ornate palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building took over 25 years to complete and began in 1719. Stunning ceilings and paintings abound in this huge palace.  

We also explored the Franconian countryside and stopped at a local beer/wine bar for pretzels and beer.
