Quite a few years ago, I had the opportunity to sail the Mediterranean with my sister, Suzanne, on Royal Caribbean. I knew that I had to return and bring my husband with me to explore this beautiful region. We had just begun traveling with Viking and chose their Mediterranean Odyssey as our first Viking Ocean Cruise.
We took advantage of a two-day pre-cruise stay in Venice before we boarded the Viking Star and traveled to Barcelona for a thirteen day journey. The Hilton Molino Stucky had all the old charm of Venice and transportation via vaporetto's was a lot of fun.
Upon our arrival, we took a private taxi from the airport to The Hilton. We wanted to see Venice and its canals and found this to be a wonderful trip even though it was raining. You'll see that in my video.
We definitely hit a bit of the rainy season and experienced flooding in St. Mark's Square. It all added to the mystique and beauty of Venice. We are planning on returning to Venice to spend some extra time and of course, Viking has a special cruise that is of interest ~ Empires of the Mediterranean!
